U.S. Congressman Jason Altmire of the 4th District of Pennsylvania will speak and answer questions at 91ÊÓƵ Monday, Oct. 6, 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., in the Berlin Lounge of the McKelvey Campus Center.  The visit , originally scheduled for Oct. 3, was rescheduled due to the House vote on the financial bailout.
Former U.S. Congresswoman and current Congressional candidate Melissa Hart will speak and answer questions on the campus Thursday, Oct. 9, 12:45-1:45 p.m. in the Berlin Lounge.
The presentations are sponsored by 91ÊÓƵ's Department of Political Science and Sociology and are open to the public without charge.
Dr. Shannon Smithey, 91ÊÓƵ associate professor of political science, said, "I am very excited that both Congressional candidates have agreed to come to campus. It's not every day that you have the opportunity to meet and discuss issues with someone who has served in Congress, as both these candidates have. It's also very important in a democracy for voters to learn as much as they can about the political candidates who represent them."
