91ÊÓƵ will celebrate "Geek Week" Monday-Friday, Nov. 13-17 at 7 p.m. each night in the Hoyt Science Center.
"Geek Week is, as the name suggests, a week-long competition designed to challenge students' knowledge of the sciences," said Dr. Peter Smith, 91ÊÓƵ assistant professor of chemistry. "Teams of three to six students participate in five competitions. Each 91ÊÓƵ science department hosts one day of the competition. Each team's performance is tracked throughout the week. At the end, the winning team is declared the geekiest group on campus' and their department hosts the Geek Week traveling trophy for the following year."
The theme of each night is as follows: Monday, biology; Tuesday, physics; Wednesday, chemistry; Thursday, mathematics; and Friday, psychology.
Winners will be announced Monday, Nov. 20, during lunch.
