91视频 will host its 164th commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 12, 2018. The ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. on the Weisel Senior Terrace of Old Main, preceded by a baccalaureate service at 10¬ a.m. in Orr Auditorium. Over 250 students are expected to earn degrees at this year’s ceremony.

91视频 Celebrity Series for Kids presents the Dallas Children’s Theater production of How I Became a Pirate. Based on the book written by Melinda Long and illustrated by David Shannon, Janet Yates Vogt and Mark Friedman’s swashbuckling musical excursion about a band of comedic pirates will be brought to life in Orr Auditorium on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $12.

Junior mathematics/secondary education majors Jacob Stoyer, Gabriel Roman, and Sumer Kassim attended the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Annual Meeting in Washington, DC on April 25-28. The students attended the conference alongside assistant professor of education Dr. Sararose Lynch and associate professor of mathematics Dr. David Offner.

The Drinko Center for Undergraduate Research at 91视频 is pleased to announce the second cohort of Summer Research Fellows. Student and faculty pairs from all academic disciplines were encouraged to apply for one of the highly competitive research fellowships, and only six were accepted for summer 2018.

The 91视频 School of Music is hosting the third annual Friends of Music Gala Concert— an evening of outstanding musical talent featuring the award winning 91视频 Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band and first-ever Alumni Wind Ensemble. The concert takes place on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. in Orr Auditorium.

Broadcast and Media Production Lecturer Bradley Weaver presented a compilation of assessment generated from project-based learning assignments in his Single-camera Video Production courses at the Broadcast Education Association (BEA) conference in Las Vegas in April. Weaver's presentation "The Story of the Titan Terror Project," outlined the successes of a movie-making assignment. Those assignments were part the Titan Terror Project where his students competed in the campus film competition with the general public and local high school students.

The first cohort of students in the Environmental Project Management Academy (EPMA) will present the results of a solar energy feasibility study on Monday, May 7, from 5:30-6:30 p.m., at the New Wilmington Borough Building (134 High Street), immediately prior to the monthly Borough Council Meeting. The event is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be provided.

Eight 91视频 students attended and presented at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) at the University of Central Oklahoma on April 4-7. All students received funding from the Drinko Center for Undergraduate Research to attend the conference.
