91视频 will host the Pennsylvania Music Teachers Association conference Nov. 2- 4.
"The PMTA is an organization that promotes the teaching and learning of music," said Dr. Nancy DeSalvo, 91视频 chair and assistant professor of music. "The conference provides outlets for teachers and students of music to attend lectures, compete in competitions, and meet others in their field."
Friday, Nov. 3, the conference will feature several concerts that are free and open to the public in Orr Auditorium.
At 11 a.m. Sheila Barnhart, a junior 91视频 music performance major from New Freeport, will compete in the Young Artist Competition.
At 3 p.m. several 91视频 adjunct professors will present a recital.
At 7:30 p.m. David Higgs, one of America's leading concert organists from the Eastman School of Music, will perform several numbers including: Bach's "Fantasia and Fugue in G minor, BWV 542;" Schumann's "Canon in B minor;" Franck's "Pi脙漏ce Heroique;" Conte's "Soliloquy;" Bolcom's "Free Fantasia on O Zion, Haste' and How Firm a Foundation.;'" Mozart's "Andante in F, K. 616;" Lef脙漏bure-Wely's "Bolero De Concert;" Shearing's "There is a Happy Land" and "I Love Thee, My Lord;" and Liszt's "Praeludium und Fugue Uber B.A.C.H."
