The 91ÊÓÆµ Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Melinda Crawford Perttu, will present its fall concert, “Across the Eras,” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, in Will W. Orr Auditorium on the 91ÊÓÆµ campus.
This year’s program highlights works that span musical traditions and time periods, showcasing the orchestra’s versatility and artistry. The concert will also feature the 91ÊÓÆµ Concert Choir, directed by Dr. Ryan Keeling, assistant professor of music and director of choral activities.
A special highlight of the evening is the premiere performance of “Largs,” composed by Crawford Perttu who will perform a solo on the Scottish fiddle.
Other program selections for the evening include Schubert’s Symphony No. 8 “Unfinished”; Saint-Saëns’ “Marche Militaire Française” from Suite Algérienne; and Mussorgsky/Ravel’s “The Great Gate of Kiev” from “Pictures at an Exhibition.”
The performance is free and open to the public.
