91ÊÓÆµ alumnus Mark Slezak ’87 returns to the Titan television broadcast booth this fall as the “Voice of the Titans,” serving as play-by-play announcer for all 91ÊÓÆµ home football games.
Slezak—who also serves as announcing team mentor—will be joined by 91ÊÓÆµ broadcast and sports communication majors Cody Vetter and Jacob Rhodes to round out the 91ÊÓÆµ Network (WCN) football broadcasting team.
Slezak has been announcing Mercer County football and basketball games for 36 years with regional radio stations WWIZ, WLLF and WPIC. He began his broadcast career at 91ÊÓÆµ in the fall of 1983, broadcasting Wilmington High School football games. He served as the 91ÊÓÆµ Titan Radio announcer from 1984 to 1987.
A resident of Hermitage, Pa., Slezak recently retired after 33 years teaching in the Hermitage School District, where he also coached basketball, track and cross country.
Vetter, a senior from Rochester, N.Y., will join Slezak in the booth and serve as a color analyst. Vetter has served multiple roles on the Titan crew, both on and off camera. He has been a broadcast and technical team leader and a host of WCN’s weekly program, “Coaches Corner.” He has experience with color, play-by-play and sideline reporting for multiple sports broadcasts for 91ÊÓÆµ and WKBN-TV in Youngstown, Ohio. Vetter is also a member of the 91ÊÓÆµ baseball team.
Rhodes, a sophomore from Columbiana, Ohio, will report from the sidelines during each game. He has served as a play-by-play and color analyst for multiple sports and served as the department’s graphics coordinator last year. Rhodes can also be heard on Titan Radio this fall as the play-by-play announcer for the Wilmington Greyhound home football games.
