NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Dr. Bryan Rennie, Vira I. Heinz Professor of Religion and Chair of the Department of Religion, History, Philosophy, and Classics, recently published an article in Numen: International Review for the History of Religions.
Dr. Jamie McMinn, an assistant professor of psychology at 91视频, will present "Sometimes You Feel Like a Group, Sometimes You Don't: Managing the Discrepancy Between Actual and Perceived Group Integration" at Faculty Forum Wednesday, Nov. 17, at 11:45 a.m. in the Sebastian Mueller Theater located in the McKelvey Campus Center.
听"Groups vary not only in how integrated they actually are, but also in how integrated they are perceived," McMinn said.听 "This talk will highlight why groups would want to seem more or less integrated than they actually are; how they can alter their perceived integration; and why these perceptions matter."

Faculty forum, established in 1990, serves as a venue for the exchange of ideas and information among 91视频 faculty.听 Speakers present their research, teaching ideas, lectures, performances, special programs, and uses of technology to keep faculty informed about the work of colleagues from many disciplines."
听McMinn, who came to 91视频 in 2003, earned his undergraduate degree from Emory & Henry College, and his master's and Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh.

Bridget Roth, a freshman public relations major at 91视频, recently received the Thomas P. Kapfer Memorial Scholarship.
This $1,402 scholarship, funded by The Pittsburgh Foundation, was applied to her tuition for the 2005-2006 academic year.
"We are grateful to the Thomas P. Kapfer Memorial Scholarship and The Pittsburgh Foundation for their support of bright, motivated students like Ms. Roth, who represent the future of our region," said Gloria Cagigas, vice president for institutional advancement at 91视频.
In 2003, The Pittsburgh Foundation, the 15th largest community foundation in the nation, awarded more than $24 million in grants to charitable organizations. Established in 1945, The Pittsburgh Foundation is comprised of more than 960 funds established by organizations and individual donors. These funds range from $10,000 to more than $32 million, and have a combined market value of approximately $537 million.
Roth is a daughter of Gary and Eileen Roth, Pittsburgh, and a graduate of Brentwood High School.

The Pennsylvania Federation of Music Clubs(PFMC) will hold its 90th Anniversary Convention at the Radison Hotel in Sharon April 24-26.
Mary Ellen Ulmer, 91视频 music librarian, will preside over the board meetings and convention, concluding her four-year term as PFMC president.
"We have two workshops planned," Ulmer said. "'Music IQ and You' presented by Patty Neeper of Trombino Piano Gallerie is scheduled at 2:30 p.m. Monday and 'Percussion in Motion' will take place Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Registration is required for these workshops."
Entertainment features Christopher Atzinger, National Federation of Music Club 2005 Young Artist on the piano, and soprano Brenda Atzinger Monday at 8 p.m. The 91视频 Faculty Brass Quintet will perform prelude music before Tuesday evening's banquet at 7:30 p.m., and the evening will include a special celebration of the history of PFMC, which was federated in 1916.
Members from area clubs such as the Sharon Music Club, Schubert Literary and Musical Society of Oil City, Mercer Music Club, Lakeview Music Club, and Opus I Music Society will attend, in addition to representatives from other parts of Pennsylvania.
The Pennsylvania Federation of Music Clubs is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to encourage American composers and performers to reach their highest potential. It is an affiliate of the National Federation of Music Clubs.

Four faculty members of the Religion Department of 91视频 will present "Religious Studies: An Interdisciplinary Discipline" as the final Faculty Forum of the fall semester Wednesday, Dec. 5, at 11:45 a.m. in Patterson Hall room 311.
Three 91视频 English professors, Drs. Elizabeth Ford, Deborah C. Mitchell, and Richard L. Sprow, will present a panel on "The Female Gaze" which is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 8 p.m. in the audio-visual classroom in Freeman Hall.
The 91视频 Science in Motion Program offers five workshops for area teachers this summer.听 All workshops are held in the Hoyt Science Resources Center from 7:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., and offer six Act 48 hours for each day of workshop attendance.
The workshop for elementary teachers is scheduled June 9-11.听 This workshop will begin with a full day of "Light, Color and Spectro-scopy for Kids" offered by Dr. Herb Retofsky from the Spectroscopy Society of Pittsburgh.听 Other topics included in this workshop include, rockets, simple machines, the solar system, and metric measurement.听 Teachers will also have the opportunity to participate in a stream study with the staff of Jennings Environmental Education Center.
