A 91ÊÓÆµ senior chemistry major spent 10 weeks this past summer studying different sweetcorn variations with a food science research group at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln through the Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU)program.

Since graduating from 91ÊÓÆµ in 2020, Madeline (Keenan) Thompson has experienced a dynamic career journey shaped by opportunities, adaptability, and a passion for learning. From radio host in small town USA to protocol officer for the US federal government, Maddie credits the ample opportunities to get involved in 91ÊÓÆµ activities as the foundation for her professional curiosity, determination, and work ethic.

Former Pittsburgh Steelers’ starting center Justin Hartwig will kick off this year’s 91ÊÓÆµ’s Come to the Wall worship series as guest speaker at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, in the Wallace Memorial Chapel on the College’s campus.

91ÊÓÆµ welcomed four new faculty members to the campus community for the 2024-2025 academic year. Joining the College in the School of Education are Dr. Emily Mazzant and Kristen Czubiak, while the School of Music added Aaron Himes and JaKobe Henry to its teaching and conducting roster.

91ÊÓÆµ has been selected as one of 16 Appalachian colleges and universities to participate in the Appalachian Collegiate Research Initiative (ACRI) this fall. With a grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC), 91ÊÓÆµ students will conduct a feasibility study for the development of a shop featuring Amish goods and works by local artists and artisans.
